About Us: Our Background and Opportunity Identified

Brought up as traditional non observant Jews, Derek and Devorah Saker, individually chose to become  Orthodox Jews later in life.

On October 7, 2023, when the world saw a return of Holocaust like pogroms and a simultaneous  global rise of anti semitism, they felt a duty to play their part in this unfolding real life drama. 

Anti semitism, the oldest form of prejudice, is perhaps sadly, also the most persistent, despite our small nation accounting for a mere 0.2% of the worldwide population. 

Recent research has shown that ‘people who believe a higher number of anti-Jewish tropes tend to know little about Jews, Judaism, and Jewish history; (Center for Antisemitism Research; 03.17.2023)

Given our small population, most people in the world will never meet a Jewish person.  This ignorance  breeds fear and opportunity; we cannot leave these things to fate.

Representation matters. And ever more critically at this seminal time in Jewish history. 

This is the gaping hole that REALWorks Productions aims to fill.  The opportunity to tell real stories, real truths about Jews, Judaism and Jewish history, that entertain, educate and enlighten the masses, through the medium of film and television.

We believe positive, authentic depictions of Jewish characters, stories and lives, has the power to change people’s perceptions and mitigate the societal poison that is antisemitism.

REALWorks’ mission is socio-political but also highly personal for us as Jews and for the Jewish nation.

We believe it is imperative to take the reins of the Jewish narrative.
